It's official! Matthias Carl would like you all to know that he has his first tooth! I will now let him tell the rest of the story...
Yes, it's true what Mommy says. At just over six months old, my first tooth emerged with lots of drama one night early this week. Mommy could not figure out why I was so fussy and would not fall asleep, even though it was clear that I was exhausted. Well, for those of you who do not remember getting your first tooth, let me remind you that it's no picnic. (I have been drooling a lot so that should have been my Mommy's first clue.) Finally, all the clues came together and it was as if the light dawned. Mommy reached into my mouth and rubbed my bottom gum, right over the spot that was bothering me most. That was all it took. I was most satisfied and fell asleep right away. Mommy giggled and called in Daddy, who was amazed. They carried me to my bed and, after lots of kisses, they said good night. I have been showing off my new tooth to everyone who pulls down my bottom jaw. (It's a bit slippery with my drool.) I even practice using my new tooth when Lars puts his finger into my mouth. I enjoy watching him jump! I am thankful for my new tooth and am looking forward to getting my second one! Well, my last bottle of the night is now finished and I am off to dreamland. Good night, sweet family! Much love!!!
Thank you for writing, sweet son. Sing yourself to sleep now and stay under your warm blankets. It is quite chilly tonight. And thank you, Lord, for teeth.
